Hoping for Some Progress

I called the surgeon's office this morning to talk to them about our dilemma. If we continue to wait on our current surgeon, we are worried that Jason will run out of FMLA time to recover. This could mean him losing his job--and even worse for us--him losing his health insurance coverage :-(

We were told that the surgeon, himself, would be having another procedure done for his heart next Tuesday. After that it would be the week of the 11th or possibly even the 18th before he would reschedule surgeries. They will reschedule them in order of priority--with Jason being one of the highest because of his level of pain and not being able to work.

I let them know that I was afraid that we could not wait that long and asked about possibly changing to another surgeon who could do this sooner. Apparently, this change would have to go through our primary care doctor (the one who won't return our phone calls!!!!). Dr. Hemric's office is going to call the PCP and try to make arrangements for us. Hopefully, they will return his phone call :-0

We are expecting a call back on all of this this afternoon. Please pray that we can make some progress today as far as getting something scheduled for Jason. We really like Dr. Hemric and hope that the next surgeon will be just as agreeable. Pray for God to go before us and work out the details (I think of Ex 14:14--"The Lord shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace.") Also, pray for Dr. Hemric. He and his staff have been very good to us and we pray that the Lord will bless him as he recovers.
