Nothing has really changed from yesterday for Jason. His pain is being managed tolerably as long as he stays down and doesn't do very much. We are seeing the surgeon at 8:30am tomorrow for a consult, and these are our prayer requests regarding the visit: 1. If there is anything that requires urgent attention that the doctor will have the wisdom and discernment to detect this and help us get the care we need. 2. The surgeon doesn't believe he will be able to get him worked into his schedule until the following Thursday (Jan 31st), so we are praying that he will prescribe more of the pain medication to last until then. The supply we have now will run out long before then.
I ran a few errands this morning and left the sick kids with Jason. He held off taking a pain pill so he would be a little more clear-headed. They are so sick, there was no way they could go with me. Since we are expecting some winter weather tomorrow, I wanted to be sure we were well-stocked for groceries ;-) I did pick up some movies (John Wayne and several others) and some books on tape for Jason from the library. If he doesn't have enough to keep him busy, I'm worried he will try to get up more than he should and end up hurting himself :-(
Please keep me in your prayer. My throat is starting to hurt and I am losing my voice. I am concerned that I am catching what the children have, and, since I am the only caretaker for all of the sick people, I really want to stay on my feet.
